Qingdao is located in East China, the southeast of Shandong Peninsula, and the east of the Yellow Sea. The climate of Qingdao is temperate monsoon climate, with significant marine characteristics. It is the economic center of Shandong Province, an important national pilot area for modern marine industry development, an international shipping hub in Northeast Asia, a bridgehead and pilot area for China, Japan& South Korea economic and trade cooperation, a major node city of the the Belt and Road New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor and a strategic fulcrum for maritime cooperation.


Qingdao is a famous historical and cultural city and the birthplace of Chinese Taoism. Jiaozhou Bay has been an important port in the north since the Tang and Song Dynasties. In the seventeenth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1891), the garrison established Jiao'ao. In 1897, Germany leased the construction of ports and railways, and it became prosperous because of "one port and one road". In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it was renamed as Qingdao City. It was named because of the small island in the sea "Small Qingdao" and the ancient fishing village "Qingdao Village". Qingdao is the host city of the sailing competition for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 13th Paralympic Games. It is also the sailing capital of China, the world beer city, the United Nations "film city", the first batch of coastal open cities, the national civilized city, and the capital of Chinese brands.
